  •         Be sure to have USB or removeable drive connected to your computer

  •         In Windows Explorer, search ‘BitLocker’ and select ‘Manage BitLocker’

  •         When BitLocker opens, select ‘Turn on BitLocker’ beside your USB or removable disk

  •     Select the check box for ‘Use a password to unlock the drive’ and create a suitable password

  •    Save or print your password in a safe place. If you lose this, you will not be able to recover the data on the drive

  •     Continue through selections. Be sure to select ‘Compatible Mode’ when choosing which mode to encrypt, as this is best for removable drives

  •     After you encrypt your entire disk, it will always ask for the password when used.
