HOW TO: Share a Mailbox Folder

In order to share a mailbox folder from your email account with another user please follow the steps listed below.

Instructions

  1. Right-click on the mailbox folder (e.g. Sent Items, Junk Email, etc.) you wish to share and select Properties.

  2. Select the Permissions tab, then Add.

  3. In the search field start to type the person’s name and select the person you wish to give permission to from the address list, press Add then the OK button.

  4. Click on the person's name and select the appropriate permissions from 'Permission Level:' drop down list (e.g., Owner, Contributor...). Reviewer rights are recommended at the Mailbox level. Select the option "Folder Visible", then press OK.

  5. To share additional folders/subfolders, right-click on the folder or subfolder, click on Properties and then click on the Permissions tab of the folder you wish to share, and follow steps 2-7 above.

 

It is not recommended to share your entire inbox with other users as they will be able to access all incoming emails to your account. To add a shared folder to your Outlook, please refer to
